Welcome
Welcome to my blog. If the idea of moving to East Africa, setting up an amateur radio station, building and erecting antennas, and working countries from that region seems appealing to you, check back often. I will update the process and practice of ham radio on safari for the next several months. My internet connection in Uganda is not the fastest, but I will add photos regularly so you read and see the progress of my radio station as it is built and operated.
I have plans to:
Move there leaving the US on October 11th 2009,
Complete the licensing process,
Set up the station,
Erect the first antennas,
Build more antennas,
Bring the station on the air,
Design and develop back-up power sources including generators and solar,
Work as many stations as I can.
This is in addition to my real job as interim director of Aidchild, an outstanding and worthy project in Uganda. Check out our website at www.aidchild.org.
